As a multi-hyphenate artist, Matthew makes work that pushes classical and contemporary plays into bold and magical new places. They build worlds onstage that inspire the imagination and connect to the primal heart of human empathy. Their work pushes the limits of theatricality, to reach the place where the heart and art meet. They create work that is achingly human and familiar.

 

Matthew holds a B.F.A in Performance: Directing from North Dakota State University, and is a certified Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. They have also completed training with Theatrical Intimacy Education and IDC.

 

Matthew has had the pleasure of working with a variety of regional, local, and college theatres, including Actors Theatre of Louisville (Louisville, KY), The Playwrights' Center (St. Paul, MN), Remy Bumppo Theatre (Chicago, IL), and Theatre B (Moorhead, MN).
